Earthquake piece published!

Years ago I dealt with an earthquake while backpacking solo across New Zealand. I wrote a version of the story that won a creative nonfiction scholarship for the River Pretty Writers Retreat. Then, based on recommendations from the editor at Intrepid Times, I revised the piece again to reduce the number of I-statements in order to bring the reader into the scene. I like how it turned out.
